What a whirlwind. It seemed like only yesterday that Donald Trump had all the momentum, Joe Biden was on the ropes, and nobody even mentioned Kamala Harris’ name. Now people can’t stop talking about her and how weird MAGA Republicans are.
As I mentioned in a previous essay, Donald Trump made a critical mistake debating Biden so early. I am sure Trump wishes he had waited until after the Democratic Convention. He debated someone who wasn’t even the official nominee!
Don’t get overhyped though on Kamala Harris. We’re still in the summer months, Trump has yet to be sentenced for his 34 felony convictions in New York City come September (doubtful he’ll see a jail cell), and there is always — always — an October surprise in politics.
With that said, we’re less than 100 days to the election in November. So in this piece, I want to explore how Kamala Harris can win in November against Donald Trump. Next week I’ll do the same essay, but inverted, with the strategies I would employ if I were advising Trump’s campaign.
I’m serious when I say I try to be objective — my primary goal is the preservation and improvement of American democracy. Democrats are certainly not infallible at achieving those ends, and Republicans definitely aren’t either. We need to be critical of all sides (although some act far worse than others).
Here are the top strategies for Kamala Harris to use against the Trump campaign until November.
